The recorder that goes back in time.
Something worth keeping was just said: the decision at the end of the meeting, the point the lecturer made in passing, the riff your band just found. Tap Capture, and forecorder saves the minutes before you pressed it.
While it's on, forecorder keeps a rolling window of recent audio, 30 minutes by default, and lets the oldest go. Nothing becomes a clip unless you capture it. You choose how far back, and how long after.
Capture, mark, find it again.
Mark the moment while a capture runs, trim to the word, and search everything you've kept.

You can feel safe running it.
A recorder you leave on has to earn your trust. forecorder is built so it can't betray it, and Android enforces that, not just our promise.
No internet access
The app has no permission to use the network at all, so it can't send your recordings, transcripts or anything else anywhere. Not to us, not to anyone.
No access to your files
It asks for no broad storage permission, so it can't read your photos, documents or downloads. It only sees its own recordings, and a file you choose to hand it.
Always visible
A notification shows the whole time it's monitoring, and Android shows its microphone indicator. Stop any time.
Check it yourself: Settings ▸ Apps ▸ forecorder ▸ Permissions lists everything it can do. Our build refuses to ship if an internet or broad storage permission ever appears.
Transcripts, made on your phone.
Add forecorder: Transcribe Offline and every clip can become searchable text, with summaries, key moments and Recap: the last 30 seconds as words, from the notification, in seconds.
It keeps the same promise: no internet access and no access to your files. The speech models run on the phone; you download one once from our models page.
